Age: 54
Why did you join the 52 Peak Club: I love the outdoors, hiking and adventure and the 52 Peak Club was a great motivator to set a challenge, explore new areas of southern Nevada, and meet terrific new people with a shared purpose.
Date completed all 52 Peaks: September 24, 2016
Toughest Peak: Pine Creek - long canyon, long day of scrambling
Favorite Hike: Bridge Mountain is so dramatic and hands down my favorite. I also love Turtlehead Jr. which is where I finished my peaks.
How did I feel becoming a 53er: Becoming a 53er ranks near the top of the most satisfying accomplishments of my life. It was a two year journey with numerous challenges including getting snowed out twice on Lee Peak trips and overcoming fear of heights on White Pinnacle Peak. There is nothing better than being surrounded by friends that you love attaining something that perhaps you didn't think was possible.
Advice for new hikers: Challenge yourself. You will be amazed what you can accomplish with support of your fellow hikers. Find hike organizers that lead at the pace you like. Don't get in too much hurry to finish as you will want to savor the experience.
