Dan Berglund
Bio: Hi! I moved to Vegas in Oct of 2011 from Boston to pursue my career as a professional musician. I started playing drums at the age of 11, traveled internationally during high school for festivals/gigs and attended Berklee College of Music in 2001 where I studied Musicology and Classical Composition. Since graduating, I have worked on cruise ships around the world, traveled with original and cover bands across the country and taught privately from various studios. I am on several full-length records I have recorded between LA, Boston and Florida and I'm happy to be here in the entertainment capital of the world working with several bands and shows and to be teaching privately from my studio.
In addition to music, I have a carpentry business that keeps me busy during the day. If you're curious, please visit Facebook.com/DanBerglundCarpentry.
Age: 31
Why did you join the 52 Peak Club: The same reason everyone does! To meet amazing people, learn routes for some of the best hiking in the Southwest and to get outside and exercise!
Date Completed all 52 Peaks: Nov 4th, 2013 (50th person to become a 53er)
Toughest Peak: mmmm… within the deck I would list White Pinnacle, sections of Ice Box Peak and the Juniper Canyon ascent route for Gunsight as some of the toughest. All are a blast and a great physical challenge.
Favorite Hike: Holiday, White Pinnacle, Ice Box Peak .
How did you feel once you became a 53er: Seriously, my fervor for reaching the peak and "getting the card" relaxed considerably. Theres a different mindset now, having achieved a goal I had worked towards for seven months.
Advice for new hikers: yeah, DON'T NO SHOW and COME PREPARED and READ THE HIKE DESCRIPTIONS!!
