Dinorah
Dinorah has been in Las Vegas since 1996. She played Soccer in local leagues for many years until 2009 when her kidney failed. She spent 2 years in dialysis until February 2011 when she received a Gift of Life that saved her life. 6 months after her transplant Dinorah started hiking and a year later she joined the 52 Peak Club. About a year and a half after she joined, Dinorah became the 33rdr 53er, just over 2 years after her transplant, and 6 months later Dinorah became a leader for the 52 Peak Club.
She still enjoys hiking and helping new hikers to accomplish their goal of hiking all 52 peaks.
Which hikes does Dinorah like to lead the most?
There are many fun hikes around Las Vegas, but if she had to pick some favorites, these are a few;
Red Rock; White Pinnacle, Oak Creek and Magic
Mnt. Charleston ; Cockscomb peak, Mack’s North ( Mack’s canyon route) and Sisters
Lake Mead; Anniversary Narrows
Here's Dinorah advice for new hikers:
Always keep safety as a top priority, know your limits and capabilities, be a team player and always respect nature, other hikers and the leaders, and remember the mountain will always be there, take one at a time.
