The 52 Peak Club is a Las Vegas area based hiking club that hikes to the area’s best 52 locations. When the hikers complete the hike, they are awarded the poker card associated with that hike. When you have completed all 52 hikes, you earn the title "Finisher" and are awarded a plaque and joker card.
How much does it cost to join the 52 Peak Hiking - Family and Fitness Club? Free to join! No membership fee. We welcome people of all ages as long as minors are accompanied by their parent or guardian at all times. Dogs are invited on a case by case basis. $25 annual fee for liability insurance: The liability insurance policy is an insurance policy that covers you with general liability insurance in the event you injure another hiker.

I’ve hiked this hike in the past, can I just get the card?
No, but sort of. At the time of your hike, you should be a registered hiker in our club's meetup site and the hike must either be led by one of our hike volunteers or if you have a "Member +" account, you can lead your own hikes (no additional costs for member + accounts). For more information, please email 52PeakClub@gmail.com.
I am a great hiker, can I just take my family or even some friends on the hike?
Yes! The family and friends hiking deck is designed to teach and enable you to lead yourself, family, and friends - regardless if they are club members or not. Simply apply with the Club Organizer at 52PeakClub@gmail.com for a Member + account. However, only the registered hikers can achieve the card and qualify for formal recognition. Member + hikes are not covered by the club insurance
Okay, what is this member + account and how do I get it?
A member + account is an account where you have the ability to lead your own hikes. Upon completion of the hike, you award yourself a card in the card tracker and Zelle payment. We will mail your card to you (or get it to you another way). You will be given card tracker permissions that allow you to add cards to your digital deck in the card tracker (same way a hike leader adds card to their hikers deck). Some people are comfortable navigating themselves so this account allows them to the flexibility to plan their own hikes. Others may not like hiking in groups or prefer a faster or slower pace. Member + is a great way to customize your hiking experience.
How can I become a celebrity in the Las Vegas hiking community?
Collect all cards to complete the 52 Peak Challenge! 😊...Upon completion of each deck of cards, you will be awarded a plaque, entered into the Hall of Fame and host a celebration hike.
How come some people have more mileage for their deck than others?
Because hikers love hiking, it isn't uncommon for someone to hike the same hike multiple times. They get mileage and elevation credit for each hike. However, only one card of each suit and value must be earned (per deck) to qualify for the plaque and entrance to the Hall of Fame. The celebration hikes are your official Finisher hike and they are scheduled periodically. We encourage your family and friends to attend. Waiver releases and club membership is not required for celebration hikes.
How long do I have to complete the 52 Peak Challenge?
As long as it takes. Some people complete it in under a year and others take several years. You are challenging yourself and everyone is different with different life events that enable or distract your hiking opportunities.
What age is required for my child to participate in the 52 Peak Club Challenge - Family and Fitness?
Youth of all ages can participate in the family and fitness challenge. If they are collecting cards, they will be entitled to a completion plaque, celebration hike and added to the 52 Peak Club Hall of Fame.
How much does it cost for my child to join?
Kids are free! No costs to join the 52 Peak Club Family and Fitness Deck Challenge! They sign up for hikes through the parent/guardian meetup account. You MUST inform the hike organizer if a minor is participating.
Meetup.com policy towards minor is: “Meetup members and organizers must be at least 18 years old. Meetup groups and events must be only targeted to people over the age of 18. Family groups are more than welcome on Meetup, but all children present at the event must be supervised and accompanied by an adult guardian”. If my minor cannot have a meetup account, how do they sign up for hikes?
Meetup requires members to be 18 to create a meetup.com profile and account however, you do not need to be over 18 to participate in a meetup event because the parent/guardian must attend with the child. To sign up, the parent/guardian will RSVP for the hike and indicate a +1 for each child. The 52 Peak Club will create an account in the Card Tracker for each registered child. The 52 Peak Club targets adults for its posted events. We welcome hikers of ALL ages.
I am getting ready to sign myself and my child up for a hike. What should I do?
When will each card hike be put onto the hiking schedule?
Hike organizers are volunteers and schedule hikes according to their personal schedules and desires. Weather also plays a factor in when a hike is scheduled. For the most part the higher elevations in the Charleston area are scheduled Spring - Summer - Fall and the Red Rock/Lake Mead areas are scheduled Fall - Winter - Spring. If you desire a particular hike, message a hike organizer.

- Read the hike description and ensure that you and your child have the stamina, endurance, and skills to successfully complete the hike.
- While reading the hike writeup, please double check to ensure the organizer is allowing kids. If in doubt, message the organizer. The organizer bases both the route and completion times on the hikers in the group.
- The Adult guardian signs up for the hike and indicates a +1, +2 etc. on the hike event.
- Ensure you and your child are prepared with the essentials, hydration, and snacks on the day of the hike.
- Have a blast and take pictures!
