Jon Wagener

Bio: I had always loved the outdoors but had not made time for it for too many years. Life can easily get in the way with work, home tasks etc. I have always been a bit of a workaholic and knew it was time for a change. It's great to get back to the basics!

Age: 50

Why did you join the 52 Peak Club: It was perfect goal fit for me. It provided me access to hike/climb with some of the best people & strongest hikers I could ever meet and all without getting lost. I would have missed many great scrambling hikes without this club. It is an outstanding medium to help anyone progress past their self imposed personal boundaries and develop continuous improvement with some of the greatest friends you have yet to meet.

Date Completed all 52 Peaks: July 15th, 2012 (6th person to become a 53er)

Toughest Peak: 4 Peak hike (Juniper, Gunsight, Rainbow, Wilson)

Favorite Hike: Holiday or White Pinnacle Peak

How did you feel once you became a 53er: Immediatey looking for a greater goal. What once was unfamiliar and out of reach, now is absolutely doable. I also feel it is my turn to help others reach their 52 goal just as many leaders helped me.

Advice for new hikers: Start small and have fun. Seek out other hikers near your same ability and work as a team to improve and advance.
