Kathy Kim
Bio: I was born and raised in Southern California and moved to Las Vegas in 1998. I have a son, a daughter, and two grandchildren. I have always enjoyed learning new skills and pushing myself, but didn’t discover my love for hiking until 2020 when COVID caused our city to shutdown
Age: 50
Why did you join the 52 Peak Club: I joined the club to become more fit and meet other people that enjoy hiking. I received so much more!
Date Completed all 52 Peaks: October 16th, 2021
Toughest Peak: Holiday Peak
Favorite Hike: Lost Creek Peak via Graffiti Traverse
How did you feel once you became a 53er: I felt accomplished and thrilled to have completed one of the most challenging endeavors of my life. I’m so grateful to all of the club members, leaders, and fellow hikers that inspired me in some way over the past year and a half.
Advice for new hikers:
Enjoy the journey! Whether you’re able to hike just once a week or every day, do your personal best and don’t compare yourself to others. Hike with leaders that go at your pace and remember that they’re volunteers that are giving their time to help you achieve your goals. Show them the utmost respect and gratitude. And most of all, never give up. The 52 Peak Club hikes are very challenging and are meant to push you to be stronger, both physically and mentally. If you stay consistent, you will see amazing results and so much growth. You deserve it!
