Bio: Avid hiker and backpacker, outdoor adventurer, world traveler, trekker, sailor and pilot who's also chasing the Seven Summits.

Age: 51

Why did you joined:  I joined the 52 Peak Club to challenge my comfort zone, try new things and indulge in my passions. That's actually a tagline from the company I work for, but they still apply. In addition to those things, I also joined to meet new people. I had just moved to Las Vegas and had very few friends here - like 1. And now, some of my most meaningful friendships are those I made from within the club.

Date Completed all 52 Peaks: April 23, 2022

Toughest Peak: McFarland - not because it's tough, but because it's long, everyone claims to know a shorter route, but they all turn out longer than expected, and the views are underwhelming.

Favorite Hike:   Evidently it's Bridge Point, but I actually prefer Bridge Vista if I have to go up those damn slabs! However, I love White Pinnacle, Crabby Appleton (because you always remember your first one) and White Rock Springs (to introduce my friends to scrambling).

How did you feel once you became a 53er:  I felt relieved that my journey (for the first deck) was finally done. I moved away for an extended period of time, which made it difficult to chase cards. It took me a total of 8 years and 18 days to finish, but it wouldn't have been possible without the support of some of the awesome leaders in the club, as well as the love of my hiking family.

Advice for new hikers: : Start with the smaller hikes to develop your "scrambling muscles." Don't be afraid to ask questions of both the leaders and others in the group. Make friends - these may turn out to be some of the best relationships you form in your life. Hike within your limits. Get to know the leaders - be friends with them. They'll be invaluable as you start to get down to your final 10-12 cards and need to have specific hikes posted.
