![]() Assistant Organizer Kelly Ashe led a nine hikers the Mountaineer's Route (Scrambling Route) to Frenchman Peak. The trailhead for Frenchman Peak is located and the very east end of Bonanza Road (where Bonanza Road dead ends). Frenchman Peak literally hovers over Las Vegas. Many locals mistakenly call this Sunrise Mountain. The 3,364-foot Sunrise Mountain lies to the north on the other side of Lake Mead Blvd. These hardcore hikers were really moving when ascending / descending the peak. It was cold and windy Christmas morning. If you live on the east side of town Frenchman is a great short workout with a lot of scrambling. What a great way to start the morning before the Christmas festivities begin. Comments are closed.
