Lauro Urbina

Bio: Born in Mexico City 1966 member of boy scouts of America 1978 to 1983, became sport rock climber 1989 to1993, Professional Graduate Master’s degree UNLV 2000, independent hiker, explorer until joining Hiking Las Vegas Group in 2010, current addicted hiker and active member of 52 club peak.

Why did you join the 52 Peak Club: Desire to continue exploring, hiking, and climbing

Date Completed all 52 Peaks: July 15th, 2012 (7th person to become a 53er)

Toughest Peak: McFarland Peak

Favorite Hike: Mt. Wilson via Cleaver Crack

How did you feel once you became a 53er: I feel happy to have a great group of friends that I can trust, have fun, conquer goals, share challenges laugh, smile, feel sadness and even cry. I finally developed such a strong relationships closer to similar people’s goals that takes me back constantly close to nature which I love that alive feeling.

Advice for new hikers: Come, feel yourself, be yourself, play, share, learn, teach, stay together, trust, laugh, scream, cry, let us help you, make us miss you, and please come back as much as you can.
