Bio:

I used to hike with my best friend. She fell in love & hiking with me went by the wayside. I thought we were tough hiker gals. After joining the 52 peak club I realize how much more I would need to step if up! I had never heard of this group before & was hiking with another group. Alynn was hiking with me on this particular day & was all excited about!

Age:  54

Why did you join the 52 Peak Club:

She explained it was more about climbing peaks than just regular hiking. In all honesty I was not that interested. But if anyone knows Alynn she can be very persuasive. We did Windy peak with Dinorah the next week. Even that was a bit challenging but nothing crazy. I was then persuaded to join... & I hate to say many times I felt out of my league. This has pushed me beyond my limits in many occasions. But I had lots of help. Lots of wonderful organizers! I have pushed myself to be better, faster, more in the moment especially for safety sake! I have had to work harder physically than I ever had in my life, & I'm very happy with myself!

Date Completed all 52 Peaks: August 23rd, 2015

Toughest Peak: The roughest hikes for me have been Pine Creek peak & ice box peak!!! I'm going to so them both again to have a better feeling for them! I did both of them in the heat of summer & it was tough!!!

Favorite Hike:  Magic Mtn., along with Rainbow Peak and Gray Cap.  I love the scrambling hikes, but I have a strong addiction for Mt. Charleston. It's beautiful and cool compare to the valley's temps.

How did you feel once you became a 53er: I love this club. I feel great about finishing my cards....its one of the biggest things I've ever accomplished. I'm so happy!

Advice for new hikers: Workout between hikes. Be rested. Paid attention while on the hike. Listen to the advise of others. Have fun.
